Jeffrey S. Sherman, Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Becton, Dickinson and Company, has been elected a director of the Atlantic Legal Foundation. BD, based in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, is a global medical technology company that is focused on improving drug delivery, enhancing the diagnosis of infectious diseases and cancers, and advancing drug discovery. BD develops, manufactures and sells medical supplies, devices, laboratory instruments, antibodies, reagents and diagnostic products. It serves healthcare institutions, life science researchers, clinical laboratories, the pharmaceutical industry and the general public.

Mr. Sherman joined BD from Wyeth, where he served as Vice President and Associate General Counsel. Before joining Wyeth, Mr. Sherman was a partner with the New York City law firm of Shereff, Friedman, Hoffman & Goodman (now part of Dechert LLP).

Mr. Sherman also serves as the Chair of the Inside the Boardroom Subcommittee of the Committee on Corporate Governance of the American Bar Association Business Law Section.
