Constitutional Issues
The Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibits states from discriminating on the basis of race, ethnicity and sex. Nonetheless, many local governments and courts assume that the principle of nondiscrimination protects only members of certain groups.Atlantic Legal Foundation makes no such erroneous assumption. We believe that the benefits of public employment, public education and public contracting should be based on individual merit--not on race, sex, ethnicity or similar factors. Thus, one of Atlantic Legal's objectives is to fight in court to ensure that all citizens are treated equally under the law.

The Atlantic Legal Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public interest law firm with a demonstrable history of advancing the rule of law in courts and before administrative agencies by advocating limited and efficient government, free enterprise, individual liberty, school choice and sound science. Atlantic Legal provides effective and decisive legal representation, without fee, to parents, scientists, educators, and other individuals, corporations and trade associations.
