Thom Golab serves as the President of the American Council on Science and Health.

He joined ACSH as Vice President of Development in May 2017. Thom has served on the ACSH Board of Trustees since 2012. Prior to joining ACSH, Thom was Vice President for Development at the Media Research Center.

Born in Washington, D.C., Thom was raised in College Park, Maryland, and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1982. With the exception of a short stint as a researcher for syndicated columnists Don Lambro and Stan Evans immediately after graduation, Thom has worked in development for public policy organizations promoting truth and liberty for the last 40 years. He has held positions at the Heritage Foundation, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the Capital Research Center, Citizens for a Sound Economy, National Center for Policy Analysis, and the Cato Institute. At Capital Research Thom helped write four books on corporate philanthropy.

Before he began his fundraising career, Thom worked as a technician in the field of biomedical research at Georgetown Medical Center under Dr. Robert Ledley for nine years. There he worked on the first full-body CAT scanner and the CENOG, which is used to detect multiple sclerosis. Thom has always had a passion for the truth and enjoys working at an organization that promotes those ideas. Thom and his wife, Irene, live in Silver Spring, MD.
