The Chief Judge of New York has again proposed streamlining New York’s byzantine trial court structure, a proposal Atlantic Legal has been invited, by leading practitioners, to analyze. Atlantic Legal has had several meetings with key participants, both supporters and opponents of the proposal. Further meetings are planned with the Rockefeller Institute in Albany, which has been retained by the Office of Court Administration to prepare a study on the proposal, and a former aide to Governor Carey, during whose term the last major court restructuring took place, and others.
