At Atlantic Legal’s Annual Award Dinner on March 10 in Washington, DC, Boeing Chairman, President and CEO Jim McNerney, recipient of the Foundation’s Annual Award, addressed U.S. Competitiveness at a Crossroads.
In assessing the ability of the United States to maintain its competitiveness in the 21st Century, he said that we as a nation need to focus our efforts in three areas:
- First, revitalize the U.S. economy and enable innovation-fueled growth;
- Second, level the playing field for international trade and increased U.S. exports; and
- Third, strengthen our industrial base and prepare our future workforce for tomorrow’s jobs and careers.
