Atlantic Legal’s longtime Advisor, Professor Richard Wilson of Harvard University, has been awarded the 2012 Andrei Sakharov Prize by The American Physical Society (APS). The Prize was established to recognize and encourage outstanding leadership and/or achievements of scientists in upholding human rights. The citation that will appear on the Prize certificate will read as follows:
"For tireless efforts in defense of human rights and freedom of expression and education anywhere in the world, and for inspiring students, colleagues and others to do the same."
The Prize will be presented at the APS March 2012 meeting in Boston and will be shared with Dr. Mulugeta Bekele of the University of Addis Ababa.
Richard Wilson is Mallinckrodt Research Professor of Physics Emeritus at Harvard University. For decades, he has been a key figure in Atlantic Legal’s campaign against the use of junk science in court.
