May 19, 2018 – In Memoriam – Member Dick Wilson Passes at the Age of 92

It is with deep regret that the Board of Directors, Advisory Council, and members of the Atlantic Legal Foundation share the news that on May 19, 2018, our highly valued Advisory Council member and key contributor, Richard “Dick” Wilson passed away at the age of 92.

Dr. Wilson was a noted Harvard physicist, and among his many lifetime awards and accomplishments, he also received the Atlantic Legal Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. Dick was among Atlantic Legal’s most productive members, and led and participated in many of Atlantic Legal’s successful efforts to foster sound science in judicial and regulatory proceedings around the U.S.

He is survived by his children, Christopher, Michael, Nicholas, Elaine, André, and Peter Wilson, and they have sent an open invitation to our members, and informed us that they will be celebrating Dick’s life at a Memorial Service on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 1 pm, at the Harvard Faculty Club, 20 Quincy St, Cambridge, MA 02138, USA, See, https://www.hfc.harvard.edu/, with a reception following.  Please RSVP, ElaineSWils@gmail.com or 1.734.276.2191.

Also, please note that the Physics Department of Harvard University expects to hold an academically-oriented celebration of Dick’s professional life at a later date during the 2018-2019 academic year.  This will again be in Cambridge, MA, USA.  Once this has been scheduled, you may contact the Physics Department to receive an emailed notice of details.
