Amicus Curiae Program

Since 1977, the Atlantic Legal Foundation has filed amicus curiae (friend of the court) briefs in key Supreme Court, federal court of appeals, and state appellate court cases involving important legal issues that align with one or more of our mission areas: individual liberty, free enterprise, property rights, limited and responsible government, sound science in judicial and regulatory proceedings, and effective education, including parental rights and school choice.

We continuously monitor Supreme Court and other appeals for possible ALF amicus participation, and frequently are requested by litigating parties or their counsel to provide amicus support. Counsel who would like us to consider filing an amicus brief in a particular case should complete our Amicus Support Request and email it to ALF Executive Vice President & General Counsel Larry Ebner.
